Mention San Francisco, and vivid images flood people's minds—the Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars, colorful Victorians, long fingers of fog creeping over hilltops—
but this city is more than a pretty place. It is a gateway to the Pacific Rim, the Wall
Street of the West, ground zero for the technological revolution, and home to the
USF School of Law.

USF is a small law school, where teaching is revered and scholarly writing is nurtured. We are a law school where collegiality replaces hostility and competitiveness, and where learning results from collaboration and positive student-faculty interactions. At USF, we are intensely committed to our mission of pursuing excellence and educating for justice.

Named one of the "Best 170 Law Schools" by The Princeton Review, USF is known for educating legal professionals who are sought after by employers because they are ready to practice law after graduation. The Class of 2008 passed the California bar examination at a rate of 87.4 percent, exceeding the state average. Over 94 percent of Class of 2007 students were employed within nine months of graduation.

USF offers many practical training opportunities, including distinctive clinics, trial advocacy programs, and a dispute resolution curriculum. Further, exceptional programming in intellectual property, public interest law, and business law takes advantage of our location in the San Francisco Bay Area.

A USF legal education imparts students with a global perspective; our unique international programming includes courses, projects, and internships in such diverse locations as Cambodia, China, El Salvador, and Hungary. As part of the Frank C. Newman International Human Rights Clinic, students prepare reports for the U.N. Commission on Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland. USF students develop a first-hand understanding that ensuring basic human rights is an important part of practicing law in the 21st century.

Ranked the 14th most ethnically diverse law school in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, our mission is inclusive and we invite everyone to join a community that takes pride in its training of ethical, skilled lawyers.
