Campus Information

You will have the opportunity to tour the law school and sit in on a law class through the New Student Visitor Program. If you did not receive information on this program in your admission packet, please contact Stephanie Carlos, associate director of admissions, at (415) 422-2284 or shcarlos@usfca.edu. Admitted students must return the New Student Visitor Program Response Form in order to participate in this program.

Housing

The majority of law students prefer to live off campus within the city of San Francisco and the Bay Area. The admissions office will send information on housing and a first-year roommate contact sheet in May. In addition, a Housing Workshop will be held on June 11, 2010, at the USF School of Law to assist in your search for off-campus housing. For more information on off-campus living, click here.

There are some on-campus housing options for graduate students, but these options are limited and not guaranteed. On-campus housing applications for the 2010–11 year will be available by February 2010 and should be submitted to the USF Residence Life Office by May 1, 2010, for priority consideration. Most graduate students are assigned to Loyola Village, an apartment style complex, and will be asked to share a bedroom in a two or three bedroom unit.

For additional housing information, including an on-campus housing application, please visit the USF Residence Life website at: www.usfca.edu/residence_life.html

On-Campus Parking

On-campus parking is extremely limited at USF. Only students living outside a five mile radius of the campus are eligible to apply. On-campus parking permits are distributed by the USF Office of Public Safety. Students must apply for on-campus parking by July 30, 2010. Lottery winners will be notified beginning Aug. 1, 2010, for the 2010–11 academic year.

Parking permits are also available for students with disabilities, or those using motorcycles.

For more information regarding on-campus parking as well as parking permit applications, please visit the Office of Public Safety website at: www.usfca.edu/public_safety/parking/index.html

Campus Safety

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the USF Public Safety Department publishes an Annual Security Report. The Annual Security Report is available online at: www.usfca.edu/public_safety/stats/stats.html

A written copy of the Annual Security Report can be obtained by contacting the USF Public Safety Office at (415) 422-4222.

Health Insurance

The university makes health insurance available for all students. Enrolling in a health insurance plan is optional for most students, but is required for all international students as well as for students who chose to live in university-operated housing.

The University of San Francisco also requires international students and students residing in university-operated housing to provide proof of immunization.
