Dean's Letter
The USF School of Law has a proud, nearly 100-year-old tradition of educating skilled, ethical, engaged legal professionals. Our inclusive Jesuit, Catholic mission of educating minds and hearts to change the world provides the enduring foundation for all we do.
The law school's most significant challenge as it is about to begin its second century is to blend its rich local and practical roots with its rising national and global aspirations. The thrust of a USF law student's education focuses on the practical, but is increasingly buttressed by scholarly pursuits and theoretical training critical to a lawyer's ability to work effectively in an interdependent world.
We will only achieve our full potential if we garner the additional resources to address our most pressing needs: expansion of the faculty to enhance student opportunity and visibility of the good work we do, debt relief for students, and broadening our donor base and increasing contributions to the law school's annual fund efforts.
Because of rising expectations and a vision of what the law school can become, support from alumni and friends is more important than ever. Your gift will help us offer additional scholarships to ensure that a USF School of Law education is accessible to the most promising of students, maximize co-curricular opportunities, and attract world-class faculty.
Legal education and the law are by nature constantly evolving. Support from alumni and friends is critical as we endeavor to remain at the forefront of this ever-changing landscape. Giving to USF is an investment in the next generation of legal professionals, and in the rule of law with justice.
Thank you for your support.
