Choulos is a partner at Choulos, Choulos and Wyle and also focuses on premises liability, mass torts, dangerous highways, insurance bad faith, and wrongful death litigation.

Rena Denham, 1982, is the associate dean of instruction at the Table Rock campus of Rogue Community College. She manages humanities, criminal justice, and seven other disciplines.
Patricia Shiu, 1982, joined the U.S. Department of Labor as director of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). The OFCCP is responsible for enforcing executive order 11246 and other laws prohibiting discrimination by businesses contracting with the federal government. She previously spent 25 years with San Francisco's Legal Aid Society-Employment Law Center.
John D. Jones III, 1982, has been elected treasurer of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP). He is currently senior vice president of professional practice and pharmacy policy at Prescription Solutions in Irvine. Jones has more than 30 years of pharmacy practice experience, and has been closely involved with AMCP for many years, serving as a member, chair of committees, board member, and presidential officer.

Dennis Peterson, 1983, a veteran Fresno County deputy district attorney, left the District Attorney's Office this week after 24 years, including seven years in the homicide unit. Peterson, who successfully prosecuted high-profile murderers, now plans to work as a criminal defense attorney.
Daniel Eng, 1983, has rejoined Bullivant Houser Bailey PC as of counsel and a member of the firm's corporate finance, securities, and transactions group. He will work in the firm's Sacramento and San Francisco offices.

Gage has been selected five years in a row as a Super Lawyer.
Kevin Ryan, 1984, the criminal justice director for the City of San Francisco and deputy chief of staff to Mayor Gavin Newsom, was profiled in Irish America Magazine's "The Legal 100."

Hon. Denise Whitehead, 1986, was highlighted for her work as a Fresno County Superior Court judge in the article "A Helping Hand" in the San Francisco Daily Journal's Judicial Spotlight column.
Mark Ginalski, 1986, graduated from the Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government with a Master in Public Administration. While attending Harvard, Ginalski co-authored "Using Federal Grant Data to Inform State and Local Planning," published by the National Grants Partnership. Ginalski is general counsel for ToxFree Development Corporation, a renewable energy company located in Tiburon. A former Tiburon Town Council member, he now serves on the planning and personnel commissions in Marin County and is also standing for election to the board of the Marin Community College District in November 2009.

Roger Platt, 1987, was named senior vice president of global policy and law at U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). He will join USGBC, the nonprofit organization that created the LEED sustainability building rating, in September. Platt is an expert in energy and climate change policy and presently works at the lobbying group Real Estate Roundtable, where he handles outreach to Congress, the Obama administration, and federal agencies.
Jill Ravitch, 1987, a Mendocino County chief deputy district attorney, has announced her candidacy for Sonoma County district attorney. Ravitch served in the Sonoma County's DA office for 15 years before returning to private practice in 2004. She is also a professor of criminal law at Empire Law School.
Christina Gallagher Nelson, 1988, hosted an estate planning networking event for more than 65 law students and practitioners at Greene Radovsky Maloney Share and Hennigh LLP.
Jeffrey Goldfien, 1988, was featured in the Recorder's Court Watch section on judges and the justice system. The feature was titled "Goldfien Evolved from Land Use Lawyer to Mediator."
Michael P. Guingona, 1989, Daly City councilmember, was featured in Asian Journal as the "most recognizable and longest-elected official of Filipino American heritage in San Mateo County." Guingona has also served four terms as Daly City mayor (1995, 1997, 2001, and 2005).
Elona Baum, 1989, has joined the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine as general counsel. Baum previously served as director of regulatory policy and strategy for Genentech.
Carlo Canty, 1989, who was recently featured in Montana Lawyer, is seeking a seat on the Montana Supreme Court.
Mary E. Wright, 1989, has become a shareholder at Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C., a national labor and employment firm. She recently spoke at the firm's national Workplace Strategies Conference in Miami, addressing the need to train managers and supervisors in employee rights, ethics, and fair play.

James Kowalski Jr., 1989, is the recipient of the Florida Bar President's Pro Bono Service Award for the Fourth Judicial Circuit and the Tobias Simon Pro Bono Service Award given by the chief justice of the Florida Supreme Court.
Mark Kushner, 1989, of San Francisco, has been reappointed to the Advisory Commission on Charter Schools. He is the founder and director of Leadership Public Schools, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a network of quality charter high schools for underserved students.
