Biographical Note

Adjunct Professor Avansino, who practices law in Nevada, is of counsel for Avansino, Melarkey, Knobel & Mulligan. The firm specializes in tax law and gaming law. Avansino is chairman and CEO of the E.L. Wiegand Foundation, a Nevada charitable trust, and is a member of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, which regulates boxing and other sports. He has served as a member of the Nevada Gaming Commission, a member of the Nevada State Commission on Ethics, and president and chief operating officer of Hilton Hotels Corporation. He frequently speaks on casino gaming regulation, casino operations, and private foundation philanthropy.
