The Center for Law and Global Justice promotes legal education with a global
perspective and nurtures the rule of law with justice. The Center’s mission
is inextricably intertwined with the University’s Jesuit-inspired mission
of “educating minds and hearts to change the world.
• Acquaints students, faculty, and staff with differing legal traditions.
• Provides a perspective on the legal and economic problems resulting
from globalization and its challenges to social justice.
• Contributes international programming and curriculum to the University
of San Francisco School of Law.
• Creates opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to work on
issues critical to the Center’s mission.
• Supports scholarly research, symposia and fellowships to protect human
rights.
• Emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach to the study of systemic
global injustice.
• Facilitates relationships and faculty exchanges with foreign universities.
• Partners with other universities and organizations for dialogue and
cross-cultural exchanges to promote justice.
