Career Planning
The mission of the Office of Career Planning is to empower past and present USF law students to attain professional satisfaction through guidance, education, and support. The well-qualified and experienced staff takes pride in assisting students and graduates in identifying and realizing their career objectives.
The Office of Career Planning provides a range of programs and resources, including online job listings, on-campus interviews, and individual counseling to help chart your course. Our dedicated alumni play a critical role in career panel discussions and other programs. Networking events on campus and in downtown San Francisco connect students with alumni from a variety of legal and alternative careers. And every fall is recruiting season, in which many of the local law firms and other employers conduct on-campus interviews with students for summer associate and other positions. Over 94 percent of Class of 2007 alumni were employed within nine months of graduation.
Further, more than 70 second- and third-year students participate each semester in USF's Clinical Internship and Judicial Externship Programs. Through these programs, students receive academic credit while gaining valuable experience and networking opportunities as interns for judges and at private firms, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and corporate legal departments.
